» Where can I buy Stock without a minimum or hidden fees?

I would like to buy stock online. I don't want to invest a lot at first as I have no experience in it. I have heard people saying there are cheap stocks you can buy for like $5 a share without any minimum or hidden fees. I'm not too concerned with trading fees. I don't plan on trading them too often. No mutual funds, please! At Sharebuilder you can enroll in a 'Basic" automatic investment plan. There is no minimum account balance and no subscription fee for the "Basic" plan. Major disadvantage- you can only buy stock on Tuesday's. Also, if you open an account for real-time stock purchases Sharebuilder charges $9.95 per transaction. I use Scottrade. I absolutely love my Ridgid Table saw and with the Herc-u-lift, it meets my needs well. But I'm getting kind of "cranky" (forgive the pun) about the elevation handwheel loosening on an all too frequent basis. What can I do to prevent this? Any good hints out there?Bob, There should be a lock washer between the head of the screw and the where it seats into the crank. If there is not, look at the parts page of your manual and obtain the correct lock washer and install it. This would be first cause. Second cause would be the insertion of the wrong screw. Either by mistake, or supplied, of the wrong length. If it's too long, it will bottom out in the whole before tightening on the crank wheel. Either of these fixes should correct your frus...... - 2009-07-04

Please clarify this for me asap. Thanks! Both licenses come with 12 months of access to new updates and versions. However with a leased at the end of the 12 months, you need to renew (either the lease or upgrade to owned) or you will need to discontinue use of the software. » Wet camera, please help

So I've been taking star trail exposures for the last few nights, leaving the shutter open for 30+ minutes outdoors. It started out as a nice, clear night, perfect for what I was doing. But of course it started to downpour while I was inside waiting for the time to pass, and being tired as I was it did not register to me that the camera was still outside. So after ten minutes of torrential rain, it clicked and I retrieved my poor camera. I disassembled the tripod and was able to dry all of those parts, and upon inspection found that my old Nikkormat FT is pretty weather-tight (from what I can tell). It didn't seem that any water got inside the lens, or that any seeped through the body since the inside was still unscathed. It is a comple...... - 2009-07-04

» Initial thoughts/pictures with my new camera *56K Warn*

Well a few months ago I dropped my Canon PowerShot S45 on the stairs (i'm still kicking myself for it...) and periodically (and comletely randomly) it would stop working at times, and it seemed to mainly be when I really needed it!! So this past week I sent the camera back to canon to get checked and fixed if it's cheap enough. I knew I wanted a new camera but wasn't sure what...I wanted something that was more flexible than that thing. My first choice was the rebel, but it was out of my price range. So after tons of research, I narrowed it down to a few choices. One of which my brother recommended, The Panasonic DMC-FZ20. Here are a handful of pics I just took with my mom's trusty old 1.2MB digi so you can see what it looks like: ...... - 2009-07-04

This match and Monday night's match with Bolton could well determine whether we can pull ourselves out of the relegation places before it's too late. Pompey and Blues are just a point above us, so the task is far from impossible, even with our tough final run-in. Time is running out, however, and we will need find wins wherever we can... even someplace unlikely like Highbury. This next bit will be just like half of my posts on this board for the last few months... WE NEED GOALS. Desperately. Our finishing has been awful, abysmal, atrocious, pathetic and any other number of adjectives. We can create chances... but can't put the ball on target. My father lets this guy manage his money and I guess has been happy with the results for years; he is managing about two million dollars worth. » Why can't I upload MP3s (or other large files) to my board?

Q: Why can't I upload large files (such as MP3s) to my board, even though I've changed the maximum file size in the Admin CP? A: There are two system variables that must be changed to allow large file-size uploads. They are in the files php.ini (PHP's configuration file) and my.cnf (MySQL's configuration file). If you are on a shared or virtual host, chances are you will not be able to edit either of these files and will need to contact your host for assistance. The variables that need to be changed are: php.ini: upload_max_filesize my.cnf: max_allowed_packet In addition, your server may limit the size of HTTP POST operations. This varies from server to server so consult your web server's documentation on how to adjust this.Is t...... - 2009-07-04

Very nice Unbehagen :) http://theendofthelongestline.de/xbox/about-plugins/index.phpIndeed - great work Unbehagen :) On a side note, the "browsing the filesystem" stuff is obviously a bad user experience - we need to mitigate this as much as possible. I could add specific code to workaround this in the mediawindows and the browse dialog (needs some special-case stuff) or alternatively we could simply auto-show the video plugins share like we do in library mode. However, I can't say I cared for Duck Tales or anything else that was shown on Disney back in the nineties or, especially, today. Come to think of it, in comparison to most anime and most of what is on Cartoon Network before Adult Swim comes on, Duck Tales looks very good and Darkwing Duck is a masterpiece.I was already grown in the 1990's so to answer your question: Not so much. I'm looking for info on which Kouhaku or which shows had both Kitajima Saburo (famed enka singer and actor) and Kinashi Noritake of Tunnels (Tonneruzu http://www.japan-zone.com/modern/comedian2.shtml) together, where Noritake was doing a parody version of Saburo as "Norisabu" or "Saburnori" or some character name like that? Anybody living in J-land know? Norisabu did an excellent job mimicking Saburo...and I saw once when one other guy was also mimicking Saburo, and the threesome did a comedic sing along of a parody of Saburo, himself..... Looking for show title and year it was done....believe it was either one of the kouhaku shows or a New Year special show, but there may have been others.... thanks in advance... :DI don't reme...... - 2009-07-04

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e127/2112st/tstorm.jpg This storm rapidly formed north of Jersey City and Union City, around 6 p.m. From this distance, I could hear low peals of thunder. Anyone know if this storm was a severe cell? It looked pretty impressive.I believe this cell was severe warned over Manhattan. It tracked south right over the GWB and down the Hudson River. That's a beautiful picture. With the archetecture, it reminds me of Europe. » What if third umpire realizes that stump out referral was a no-ball?

it could be a foot fault no ball or because of illegal fielding placement or some other reason And this misses the main umpires' attention ,who refers the stump out appeal to the TV/3rd umpire Does the third umpire give a no-ball or doesn't worry about it.According to law 39 of the laws, you cant be stumped off a no ball. However, the wicket keeper can 'accidently' drop the ball, pick it up and 'run out' the batsman or if the ball rebounds off the wicket keeper (except his helmet) it is also considered 'run out'. If the third umpire realizes it is a no ball I am not sure what his obligation is. I haven't seen that scenario but I have seen replays where someone is gi...... - 2009-07-04

» What causes the water on our planet to change form?

what cause the water cycle? The sun heats water, causing it to evaporate. Once in the atmosphere, it rises as the sun continues to heat it (hot air rises, cool air drops and displaces warm air). Once it rises far enough, the reduced pressure of the upper atmosphere causes it to cool. A balance tries to form between the heating of the sun and the cooling as pressure decreases in the higher altitudes (lower pressure means cooler, more sun means warmer). Things eventually even out, and the water stops rising. Then, night falls as the planet rotates, and the sun no longer warms the moisture. Things are no longer evened out. The water starts to form droplets, then drops, and then begins to fall as rain or snow, if it gets cold enough....... - 2009-07-04

I'm looking for suggestions for a good macro lens for a Nikon D50. The Nikon macro lens is just too expensive.I'm assuming you want something for true 1:1 macros. Maybe in the 100mm range for insects and stuff. The Nikon 105mm f/2.8 is about $800. The Tamron 90mm f/2.8 is about $475 and the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 is about $400. I personally have the Nikon 60mm f/2.8 and the Nikon 105mm f/2.8 and I love them. Many photographers have had good reviews of the Sigma and Tamron. They produced nice sharp photos just like the Nikons. Kthe sigma (105 2.8). great lens, terrific sharpness and clarity. definitely the best bang for your buck. the 150mm is better, but it's a couple hundred bucks more. the bad thing about the 105 is it's autofocus spe...... - 2009-07-04

Your dose might be different from somebody else's so it's hard to tell exactly how much it will cost. Usually guys get shots every other week, although there are creams, and patches that work well. Patches and creams cost more, but even out your hormone level through a week where as a shot will have a high spike of hormones. $120 a month seems like it might be the average cost per month.I don't have health insurance right now either, and my student ...... - 2009-07-04

» FA Cup European Place

I have a question about who would take the European place from the FA Cup. If I recall correctly, since the abolishment of the Cup Winners' Cup, the FA Cup winner or finalist would go to the UEFA Cup. That's how Millwall were in the UEFA Cup this year, by virtue of being in the FA Cup final last year, since Manchester United were going to the Champions League. Now, ManU and Arsenal are in the Cup Final. But, both teams look to be in the Champions League next year. So, who would take the european place alloted to the FA Cup? TIA GonzoI believe it goes to the highest-placed finisher in the Premiership who wouldn't otherwise qualify. Now (assuming Liverpool don't win the CL or do win but finish in the top 4): 1. CL 2. CL 3. CL ...... - 2009-07-04

» Sex Field

I was wondering if there is a way to have users input their gender somewhere in the user cp and have it show up under their avatar and location so all of the users on the forum could easily see it. Without going into the users profile. Let me know, because I have been looking for forum software that fits in and if vbulletin has it and for some reason. Thanks, let me know.Yes, you can add custom fields to vB to ask for a user's gender and display it on postbit.is it just me or did i not post a reply to this ??...... - 2009-07-04

» My dream???anyone got any ideas/?

so last night i had a dream that i was stuck in this strange other realm type of thing with a bunch of friends and the only way to get out was to sacrifice two people. i was in a pretty serious relationship with one of the people but he and my best friends guy sacrificied themselves so that we could be set free from the realm and sent back to our world. then afterwards i was pregnant and had his child and the end of the dream was right after the birth of our son, i went to his mothers place and she gave me a box with a note from him saying "i haven't died, come back to find me". i know it's a wierd dream, but anyone have any ideas about what it could possibly mean? and p.s...i am currently attending high school and i don'...... - 2009-07-04

» For people out there who are gay, how would you say being gay has affected your self esteem?

There seems to be a lot of negative self talk that goes along with being gay, especially for gay teenagers. Late teens is when most gay/bi guys realize they've got something going on, and I'm guessing most go through a period of self disgust, if not self-hate. For those of you who are gay, is this perception true? If so, it doesn't seem like a healthy thing. What are the long-term effects, and how would you recognize them in yourself or others? How would you suggest overcoming the effects?I was never upset that I am gay. Never had a problem with it. My weight, on the other hand, is a completely different story.Lots of gay teens do go through that period, but when they get through it, they can experience a lot of pride ...... - 2009-07-04

» childhood book

I read a book in the late 1970s -- it was probably published in the 1960s or early '70s -- about a mouse who is kidnapped by a rich man who loves cheese. The mouse ends up rescuing the rich man from a dark tunnel. Any idea what the title of this book was? Here's a description of a book first published in 1967: "When Patrick mouse is kidnapped by a millionaire who collects mice, he manages to save the millionaire's life and is handsomely rewarded. From there he buys a boat, is lost in the Atlantic and ends up involved in the pursuit of two fat rat jewel thieves!" Does this sound like your book? If so, I'll be glad to tell you where you can purchase a copy.Yes, I think you've got it! This is the 2d time you've answ...... - 2009-07-04

» Semi related flash question...fill flash for Canon 10D

I always try to use fill flash when shooting outside to avoid harsh shadows but I don't seem to be all that good at it. Is there a way to meter for the available light and just add a bit of flash? I use an external flash. I try to use reflectors when I can but it's not always possible.I use the flash guide number to pick an aperture based on distance to subject, and then close it a stop or so. I determine the shutter speed by metering available light at the final f/# I've chosen. EDIT: I guess I should point out that this is about cameras in general, and not just the 10D, but it should work the same.i haven't received my 10D yet, and i barely ever use a flash, but what i do is that i compensate at -1 stop or so, depending on the distan...... - 2009-07-04

» Question about speed hearing

I have been attempting to translate RAW episodes for a bit and have a tough time catching up with the Japanese dialogue sometimes. Just...how do the Japanese come to understand the Romaji in Japanese animations without having to rewind 50 times like I am? I am watching and translating episode 53 of Sonic X and have troubles understanding when a character talks WAY too fast. I've asked this before, but I would like to understand speed talking? Any suggestions? What do you mean "understanding the romaji". Do you mean understanding roman characters or understanding Japanised English words? What I mean is being able to understand what is being said in an animated Japanese style show when it goes too fast. Its verbal Japanese dialog...... - 2009-07-04
